Most UK trade websites have 200-word service pages and wonder why they don’t rank. Your service page is a ranking asset with a job to do.

The Perfect Service Page Structure

H1 Tag

Lead with the service and city: “Boiler Installation in Manchester” — not “Welcome” or “Our Services.”

Separate Pages Per Service

Don’t lump everything onto one general services page. Roof repair gets its own page. Roof replacement gets its own page.

Length

Aim for 1,000+ words. Look at whoever ranks above you and beat their length. You’re not padding — you’re covering what they cover plus what they missed.

Real Content

  • Before and after photos of real jobs (not stock images)
  • FAQ section covering cost, timeline, warranty
  • Case studies from local customers
  • Pricing information (even ranges)

Local Signals

  • Mention your service area
  • Include local postcodes
  • Reference local landmarks
  • Add a Google Map embed

UK-Specific Tips

  • Use British English spelling
  • Reference UK regulations and standards
  • Include UK-specific pricing (in GBP)
  • Mention local councils if relevant
